Jameson MARTEL: Actor

• Tell us something about yourself, your background:

I am a new movie actor out of Charlotte, NC. I began acting in July 2020 starting with a day player role on a short film out of Nashville, TN. A year and a half later and I have played supporting/lead roles in 3 full length independent feature films and 5 short films. I have never acted before! Never read a book or taken a class, but I have always been an Artist.
(To date, I have estimated around 1hr 20min of on-screen film time)

• List your ventures with a brief explanation of each:

Director Taylor King (New Zealand Son Films) asked me to play a small supporting role for his film, Super Hot, at the end of 2020. Taylor is an amazing director and creative genius, so I consider myself blessed to collaborate with him and a fantastic cast of creatives. You can catch a glimpse of me in Super Hot, which released to Amazon Prime internationally.
Being so new to acting, most of my work is still in post-production. I am expecting a release of a family film shot out of West Palm Beach, FL soon. The film is about three kids who stumble upon some would-be criminals. I play one of the criminals alongside Actors Price Mitchell and Bradley Fischer. I am excited to see the finished product!

• How/Why did you start as an entrepreneur? What set you off?

I have always been an Artist and so during the summer of 2020, I decided to try something new. I like to say my art is the “process” of becoming a movie actor. Becoming a movie actor seems like a nearly impossible thing to do. How does anyone become a movie actor? I approach the question logically to learn what does and what does not work to further my goal. I ask myself daily, “What is the next step?”
I have had a blast so far and I am excited to see how far I can go with it. What an incredible honor it is to be an Artist!

• Tell us a bit more your ventures:

I was recently approached by producers from a film network out of the UK/EU who are interested in having me in their films for 2022. Wish me luck!
