His Excellency Ambassador Paul S Massaquoi Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to South Korea

Tell us something about yourself, and your background:

My academic career started at the Christ the King College in Bo Sierra Leone through Njala University College in Sierra Leone before pursuing my studies and graduating from Oxford University, the University of West London, the London Metropolitan University in the UK and the world Maritime University. I had a brief spell studying Law at the University of Law in UK at the level of Graduate Diploma in Law.
I am a grass-root individual with very good knowledge and understanding of local national traditional values and culture as well as international contemporary life style from humble beginnings it all started.

List your ventures with a brief explanation of each:

My illustrious career in the public sector ranges from service as Ambassador to the Republic of South Korea, Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Maritime Administration, Board Member Vista Bank Sierra Leone, Chief Executive Officer and Trustee Chairman of the President and First Ladys Foundation, United Kingdom and the Republic of Sierra Leone etc.
I am a Business Development Consultant in the UK and have served as a Proprietor of a renown Private Employment and Health Care Agency in the UK where I own a UK based registered Charity organisation serving as a Trustee Chairman and Founder.
Prior to the announcement of my appointment as the Ambassador to Korea, I was the tenured Executive Director of the Sierra Leone Maritime Administration (SLMA) for four years, where my enduring legacy precedes me as the best in the maritime sector.

Tell us a bit about your role as Ambassador of the Republic of Sierra Leone to South Korea:

My leadership and experience highly personify my years of proven track record of success mostly in negotiating and resolving complex multilateral businesses for high level international organizations and individuals whilst promoting and facilitating diplomatic trade relations.
Among the hallmarks punctuating my illustrious tenure are my bold strategic initiatives to fostering international best practice and standards to improve regulatory compliances in the maritime blue economy and transport sector in Sierra Leone where I left a bold signature footprints of my blue economic credentials as my prized trophy and chief export to the rest of the world.
As an emissary to Korea, I am now leveraging my extensive experience and diplomatic acumen to reaffirm and strengthen the bilateral mutual position between the Republic of Korea, Sierra Leone and beyond.
My farsightedness and unique insight into the mirage of international trade dynamics, coupled with my proven track record of fostering partnerships, promoting mutual interests to leverage new avenues for further collaborations and cooperation between countries has been very crucial especially at a time when Sierra Leone have been seeking to deepen its cooperation in various fields, including trade, technology, education, and maritime affairs.
My vision as an ambassador is not only a testament to my exemplary service in both the public and private sector over the years but also a reflection of my ability to showcasing my endowed knowledge and exceptional leadership and commitment to public and global services as well as my combined positive attitude towards other cultures and businesses with confidence in handling business negotiations and modern leadership methods and practices.
As I am now been charged with the responsibility to embark on nation building in the diplomatic service with the burden of expectancy and impactful results, I am seeking new opportunities to explore, negotiate and horn my expertise in delivering at pace with positive outcomes and shared goals.
