- I had always been a problem-solver. As a heating and cooling service contractor, I spent my days troubleshooting issues in homes and businesses, always looking for innovative solutions to make my job easier and more efficient.
Tell us about your venture with a brief explanation:
- Power-coil x10 has eliminated all the frustrations incurred by the user from the original design in 1904, to which has not been addressed until now. The extension cord, along with email, smartphones, and duct tape, is likely one of the most frequently utilized creations. Introducing POWER-COIL X10 as the best version of this device, and it has the potential to replace the term “extension cord” with “power-coil”. 3 key features and benefits Spring design: Tangles and knots are virtually impossible due to it’s spring design Compactness: With its retractable spring design, you can easily extend or retract the cord to the desired length. When not in use, simply retract the cord and store it in the included drawstring bag for effortless organization and protection. Flexibility of the large coil design: Springs are known for their ability to deform under pressure and then return to their original shape. POWER-COIL X10 gives the user the ability to power loads that are stationary, like table saws or pumps, and mobile, like lawn equipment and vacuums. Because of the large loop spring design, the cord will trail mobile loads without having to swing the cord or manure the load away from the cord to avoid potential damage. POWER-COIL provides a reliable way to energize loads from 2-50 feet away in any direction from the power supply outlet.
How did you get to where you are? What set you off?
- It has always been a discussion in the shop and on-site about how technicians wanted their cords wrapped up and stored in their vans. What worse than wasting time with untangling cords to get the job started? Wrapping it up, and storing it. The methods most used to store their cords usually causes damage to the cord over time, and consumes space in the truck that is shared with other devices. What if there was a way to make extension cords more manageable and less of a hassle to use? What if I could create a retractable extension cord that would eliminate the need for untangling and wrapping up cords on the job? Determined to find a solution, I set out to work on this during my spare time, sketching out designs and experimenting with different materials. After many failed attempts and late nights in my workshop, I finally had a breakthrough. Excited by my invention, I decided to take a leap of faith and turn my idea into a business. I founded POWER-COIL, a company dedicated to providing contractors and commercial facilities innovative solutions for the traditionally frustrating extension cord. Soon after, I had started working on a garden hose with the same properties as the retractile extension cord I had invented.
